make a meaningful gift to open door ministries.
Your gift makes a meaningful impact in the lives of men, women, and children in urban Denver. Read below to learn about the many ways you can give to Open Door Ministries.
special state tax benefits
When you give cash gifts designated to specific ministries within Open Door, you can be eligible for significant Colorado state tax benefits. All gifts designated toward the Open Door Learning Center qualify for the Childcare Contribution Credit, a 50% state tax credit. Additionally, all gifts designated toward Street2Life Print Shop, Open Door to Success, and Still Waters Housing qualify for the Denver Enterprise Zone 25% state tax credit on all gifts of $250 or higher.
employee Matching gifts
You may be able to increase the impact of your gift to Open Door through a matching gift program through your employer. Ask your employer about their charitable matching programs to see if your gift to ODM can be doubled. See a list of some companies who do matching programs by clicking here.
There are significant tax benefits to donating appreciated stock. When you donate publicly traded stocks to ODM that have been held for more than one year you may avoid capital gains taxes. Plus, you may take the full fair market value of the gift (on the date it is transferred, rather than the amount you originally paid for it) as a charitable deduction on your income taxes. If you have questions about your stock contribution, please contact Kim Sierra: 720-975-0100, email@example.com.
Give Real estate
Your property can be gifted to Open Door Ministries by signing a deed transferring ownership. The value of the gift will be based on an appraisal of the property by an independent appraiser. By gifting your property you can avoid paying capital gains taxes and receive a tax deduction for your contribution.
