Colorado Homeless Contribution Tax Credit

As of January 1st, 2023, the Enterprise Zone (EZ) tax credit has been replaced with Colorado’s Homeless Contribution Tax Credit (HCTC). The new HCTC is now available in the entire state of Colorado to support a broader range of homelessness-response services. Click here to learn more.

Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit

All donations given to the Open Door Learning Center are eligible for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit. The state tax credit is equivalent to 50% of the contribution amount. Learn more at this link or contact James Rider with questions.

Employee Matching Gifts

You may be able to increase the impact of your gift to Open Door through a matching gift program through your employer. Ask your employer about their charitable matching programs to see if your gift to ODM can be doubled.

Give Stock

There are significant tax benefits to donating appreciated stock. When you donate publicly traded stocks to ODM that have been held for more than one year you may avoid capital gains taxes. Plus, you may take the full fair market value of the gift (on the date it is transferred, rather than the amount you originally paid for it) as a charitable deduction on your income taxes. If you have questions about your stock contribution, please contact James Rider at 720-975-0120 or james@odmdenver.org.

Give Real Estate

Your property can be gifted to Open Door Ministries by signing a deed transferring ownership. The value of the gift will be based on an appraisal of the property by an independent appraiser. By gifting your property you can avoid paying capital gains taxes and receive a tax deduction for your contribution.
