Ezra is an outreach and mentoring ministry to the street-connected community.

Ezra has been an outreach to the street community of Denver since 2003. Our purpose is to provide a path from the street to a productive and Christ-centered life for street-connected individuals.

Our name originates from the prophet Ezra who ministered to the exiled Israelites. Ezekiel 34:5-6 says, "So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them." Similarly, the Ezra ministry reaches a population that could also be considered an "exiled" group in today's society.

Ezra reaches a population that likes to refer to themselves as "street kids." Very few street kids are actually kids. In fact, many of them are adults that hit the street when they were kids, between the ages of 13-15. They still see themselves as kids as they have not emotionally grown since then.

Ezra staff reach these guys and gals through consistent street outreach and one-on-one relationships. We walk alongside people as they seek addiction recovery, grow in their faith, and find employment and housing. We maintain relationships even when our friends are in jail or prison. We desire to create a new community for people and have a ministry of presence, always being available to our street-connected friends.
