Treasure House
is a three month to two year transitional housing program
for single moms,
ages 15 and up, who are in crisis. As part of our program,
we help each mom begin to establish
a way to become self-sufficient, whether that is getting a
job or enrolling in a school program.
We focus on parenting skills, life skills and spirituality.
In addition to other program requirements,
each girl is required to be productive four hours a day, either
working or in school. We have
family dinners three nights a week in which each resident
takes a turn to cook, and we have
discussion around the dinner table. Each night the residents
are required to spend one hour
doing a quiet time/bedtime routine with their children. These
things help each resident establish
a routine or rhythm for their family which we hope will continue
when they no longer live at
Treasure House.
